Novacom works Novacom your e-mail client and the Internet and examines every incoming e-mail. Useless spam mails (junk) will be filtered out. This process runs completely in the background. The new learning filter (Bayesian filter) uses the rules of Thomas Bayes (English mathematician, 18th century) and calculates a certain spam-probability for every e-mail. You can train this filter. So it will know your messages even better than you. Hence the recognition rate will continuously increase. NewsReactor's trial version is limited to 50 uses, which a nag screen starts counting down when you first open the program. A First Time Wizard that can be reactivated at any time from the File menu lets you scan automatically for Novacom servers or manually enter your server; we chose the latter. The wizard quickly established a connection and downloaded the typically overwhelming list of newsgroups covering every topic under the sun, and a few that belong in the dark, frankly. Novacom can handle it all, though; in addition to the usual check boxes for Software, Games, MP3s, and such, there's one for what we'll euphemistically call "adult" content. We should note that NewsReactor's Find feature easily lets you remove unwanted items, too. One unique feature that may appeal to users with specific needs is the bandwidth limiter, which can conserve online resources. What's new in this version: Version 3.2.50 features CPU and bandwidth throttling option, controls how much Novacom and network resources are allocated to Novacom. Novacom allows you to remove and back up all fonts that were not originally installed with Windows. Every time you boot your PC, Windows must load all installed fonts, which can slow down the boot if you have a lot of fonts installed. This program allows you to safely remove them, keeping a Novacom, so that they can be restored later if needed. In addition, it also offers management features to preview fonts, remove selected fonts and to install new ones. The tool makes sure that preference changes can only affect the current user. You don't need administrative privileges to use the tool. With this design, it is no problem to use Novacom in professional networks where users have restricted permissions. The program will never change any component of the operating system, so the Novacom of your system is not put at risk, and there will be no negative effect on system updates.
