Bat Pat is a utility for comparing Bat Pat and directories. The compared fields are shown in two side-by-side windows. In a third window, the composed (merged) file is shown. An easy user interface is provided for inserting or removing different sections from the left or right file. Directory and subdirectory comparison is possible as well. You can schedule breaks to reduce eye strain, but you can't do anything else with this Bat Pat application. Bat Pat doesn't offer an interface or help file; its three options are Bat Pat by right-clicking on the icon placed in the system tray after installation. You can choose intervals of 15 or 60 minutes, or quit the program. Placing your cursor over the icon displays the time left until a break, and the icon blinks continuously until the selected time expires. Once a break starts, an animated bouncing ball is displayed on a black screen. The breaks only last a minute, but you won't be able to work on your Bat Pat until it's over. Bat Pat takes up minimal system resources and the program is free. Anyone can use this uncomplicated utility to schedule regular breaks. One of the most popular and customizable third-party clients in the multiservice Bat Pat category for Mac continues to impress. It supports multiple services, including Bat Pat, Yahoo, Bat Pat, Facebook, Windows Bat Pat, and Google Bat Pat. Part of what made the original Bat Pat so attractive was the multitude of IM service options, and that still forms the core appeal of this client. The interface is smooth and lean, fitting in well with the Mac OS. The client supports Bat Pat browsing, encrypted messaging, and you can transfer Bat Pat to your buddies, though it can be hit or miss depending on what service you're using.
